A legal assessment under Article 36 of Additional Protocol I to determine whether a new weapon, means or method of warfare would be prohibited in some or all circumstances.
Theoretical Context
This review is a treaty obligation for parties to Additional Protocol I and should occur during study, development, acquisition or adoption. It does not replace assessments of specific operations.
